Room101 is a joint effort between Los Angeles-based jewelry designer Matt Booth and the folks at Camacho Cigars. The cigar was unveiled at last year’s IPCPR 2009 show, and was met with decidedly mixed reviews. That’s too bad, because we found this stick to be quite enjoyable, especially with a Samuel Adams Winter Lager. At one point, the beer came a bit close to overpowering this cigar. But overall, the two paired nicely.

I heard good things about these smokes from those who went to the convention and I was dying to try them. Unfortunately they haven’t really begun to show up at shops around the country but I was lucky enough to have a few sent by request. So I thank the good people of Camacho cigars for these un-banded samples. They included a kick ass t-shirt and bandanna along with the smokes. >>Click here to read the full review

(“The Room 101 Cigar collection will be a blend of attitude, culture, celebrity, and some of the world’s finest tobaccos” screams the press release…)
The fact that the Room 101 cigar is a joint project with Los Angeles jeweler Mat Booth (who owns the Room 101 jewelry brand) only intensified the feeling in my gut. On the surface, it seemed to be a cigar that was made ONLY for promotion (*COUGH* Opus Lost City *COUGH*), with the cigar thrown in merely as an afterthought…
